July Updates

6/28/2020

Starting Friday July 3rd we will be offering Cinnamon Raisin & Rosemary Salt bagels!! Order online at toasttab.com/bagelry or start a subscription if you don't want to worry about putting in an order every week. We have also made a few changes to our subscription offings including "add-on" subscriptions for things like Challah, Bialy, Coffee, & extra cream cheese

I wanted to give you all a general update on the store. Though we are technically aloud to be open for dinning at 50% capacity, it is our feeling that the safest thing for our staff and customers is to continue to operate at our current capacity for at least another couple weeks. Opening at a greater capacity would mean more bodies in the store and would make social distancing very difficult. It is our goal at this time to never have more that 5 people working at any one time. All staff have been and will continue to wear masks whenever they are at work. We provide them with masks, gloves, hand sanitizer, and plenty of hand washing stations.  We also have bleach water at each station, and all frequently touched surfaces are cleaned regularly. We have a temperature and symptom check form that all staff fill out before starting their shift and it is reviewed by a manger. On a personal note, I am so proud of our staff, and how seriously they are taking this even though they are almost all in the less vulnerable age group, they have a strong sense of responsibility to their community and I am honored to work with them. Thats all for now, thanks for checking in on us! Stay Safe & Stay Strong Bagel Fans

We are so happy to announce that our ordering pages are up and running! We are starting very slowly but hope to expand our menu as the weeks go by. If you do not see your favorite bagel flavor, fear not, we will be bringing back all flavors eventually. For more information on how to order visit our Menu page for online ordering and our subscriptions plans page for bagel subscriptions.

I wanted to use this platform to speak in a little more detail about what we are doing to keep our staff and customers safe. We have reviewed all of the recommendations laid out in the Safe Start Plan and will be following all recommendations.  Please follow the link for a full understanding of all the precaution we will be taking.

We believe that the best way to keep our customers safe is to keep our staff safe. For this reason we will not be taking walk in orders. By moving to an online ordering platform we are able to cut down on contact between staff and customers. We will be offering delivery through June 30th at least and have worked with the city to reserve parking spots in front of the store for curbside pickup. Additionally, we have kept our menu small so that we can limit the amount of staff we have working at any one time. On a normal day, we would have up to 20 people working at one time. Our goal for the foreseeable future is to never have more than 5 people working at a time. We will be setting up work stations that are at least 6 feet apart and will restructure how we do things to be able to maintain social distancing. All Employees will have access to masks, glove, hand sanitizer, and plenty of hand washing stations(as usual). As employees return we will be educating them on how the virus spreads and what we can do to stop it. Additionally, we will be conducting symptom  screenings each day and sending home anyone who we feel may be at risk. All staff will have access to their accrued sick leave and we will be working with staff who have run out of sick leave to ensure that they are taken care of finically if they they take time off because they aren't feeling well or have come into contact with someone with covid 19. Finally, We are also looking into restructuring our in-store ordering experience so that when we do reopen the dinning area it will be with social distancing and other safety measures in mind, stay tuned for more updates on that in the future.

Thanks so much for reading, we are so excited to be baking bagels again !

Hello All!
I wanted to give everyone an update on our opening progress. We have been been putting a lot of thought into how we we will bring you your favorite bagels & spreads in a convenient, sustainable, and most importantly safe way. We remain committed to the safety of our staff and customers above all else and will not have an exact opening date until we feel confident that the infection rate is low enough for us to return safely. While we are hoping that this will be sometime in mid to late May it is hard to say for sure until we get closer to that time. We are looking into all best practices for reopening and will be making a separate post on everything we will be doing to keep folks safe when we do open again.

That being said I am really excited to share our plans with you so you know what to look forward to when we do reach that point.
How will I be able to order? You are going to have two different options for getting your bagel fix. One is Ordering Online 24 hours in advance of the day you would like your order. Please note we will only be accepting online orders to start out. We will be filling orders Mondays, Fridays, & Saturdays. When you order online you will have the option of Curbside Pick Up or Free Delivery for orders over $20 and with in the delivery radius which is roughly Bellingham city limits. If you are picking up you can give us a call when you get the to store and we will run your order out to your trunk or a no contact pick up table. Orders can be picked up between 8:30-noon. If you are getting delivery we will start making deliveries at 8:30 and hope to be done by around 11. We are not able to give you an exact delivery time but we can text you when we are heading your way. The second option, which I am personally so excited about, is that we are going to be offering Bagel Subscriptions! You will be able to to choose from various packages and frequencies and have bagels delivered to your door ( with in Bellingham city limits) on a regular basis. For more information on all the details see our subscriptions details page
What will be available to order? We will be starting off very small scale and hopefully adding things in as business picks up. To begin with we will only be offering Bagels and Cream Cheese with a 1/2 dozen minimum order for delivery. To start we will be offering the following bagel flavors: Plain, Sesame, Poppy, Everything, Garlic, Salt, & Onion. Bialy & Challah will be available through subscription plans. We will have the following cream cheese flavors to start: Plain, Vegan Plain, Garlic-Fetta-Dill, Italian, Lox, Scallion, & Strawberry.
When will the dinning area be open?
The short answer is we aren't' sure but what we are sure about is that when we do open the dinning area it is going to be sparkling! We will be spending the next month deep cleaning and making some exciting updates to our in store ordering experience! We started yesterday by having Service Master professionally clean our floors! Stay tuned for more pictures and updates.

Finally, I just want to say thank you  all so much for the continued interest and support it really helps us get up and get going in the morning. ❤️

Greetings Bagel Friends!
As many of you know we have been temporarily closed since 4/1/20 do to covid 19. We are looking into starting a limited delivery/takeout service that would include bagels and spreads to start out with. While we do not have an exact date set it will likely be starting sometime around the middle of May. The main factor in determining when we will start this up will be the safety of our staff and our customers. I will be posting more updates on this blog page as soon as we know more. Thanks for checking in on us, stay safe and stay healthy!
